Sci Fi Thriller – Part Deux
Time for another update boys and girls.
Since we last ’spoke’ three weeks ago, I have banged out another 45 pages of my shitty first draft and what is so amazing – to me anyway – this first draft will probably run a little long, say 120+ pages. What makes this so amazing is that I usually write too short. My first drafts come in around 80 pages and then during the rewrite I have to expand the story – which I mostly struggle to do. I hope to learn that cutting is much, much easier.
On a separate note, I am lucky to be a participant in my friend, Pamela Schott’s latest project: The 24h World Project. My explanation most likely won’t do it justice, but in a nut shell she is attempting to gather pictures and comments and thoughts of writers and other folks from around the world twice a month – at different times of the day – for the next year. What she will end up with is a series of photos and comments that cover a twenty-four hour period. Interesting stuff. You can find a more accurate and comprehensive account of this project at her Blog: http://pamelaschott.blogspot.com/.
Hop on over and take a look. Come back often to see what progress is being made. I don’t think you will be sorry.
That’s a wrap for now. Keep Writing!
