The Unknown Screenwriter
One of our best friends has disappeared. The Unknown Screenwriter has vanished from cyberspace. Gone. Kaput. Nada.
What the fuck happened LOL?
Has he given up? No longer writing? No longer interested in sharing his knowledge with us mere mortals? These are all questions I asked. And his response? Alas…..
No.
Turns out Unk got screwed. I quote:
“Long story… I was out of the country and my domain expired and I
didn’t have access to the net till I got back to the U.S. However,
you’re supposed to have 30 days from the time the domain expires to
renew for the regular price… Then if you STILL don’t renew during
that time, you can pay $150 to get the domain out of the expiration
queue… I got back home well within the 30 day period but the domain
had already been sold to a domain broker… LOL.The fuckers at
Then, yesterday I receive this follow-up from Unk (I have replaced actual amounts with the ‘xxxx’):
“I am actually undergoing negotiations right now to get the domain
back… LOL. The domain broker is definitely holding the domain hostage.
He wants xxxx Euros for it which as of today, comes out to $xxxx USD and
for that amount of money, he can shove it up his ass. I can do it all
over again if need be… In fact it might be fun.”
‘…it might be fun’. It would be a lot of fun for us if he follows through: either getting back his domain name or creating a new one. Either way we all win.
Hang in there Unk. Your fans will be back when things shake out and The Unknown Screenwriter returns to cyberspace.

Man, thanks for this. I was out of touch for some time and when I returned the first thing I did was click on Unk’s link on my website only to find it gone. I’ve been looking and looking and found no answers as to what happened until now.
Tell me, did you find this out via direct communication with him? Just curious.
Again, thanks.
Daniel,
I’ve been exchanging emails with Unk for four years, so yeah, I was in direct communication with him. Never fear…. he’ll be back.
